Misleading Soundbites and Headlines

A recent study was published in the New England Journal of Medicine which followed over 12,000 people for 32 years. The study was based on the premise that obesity may be linked to a type of “social virus”.

In 2004, under a mounting tide of criticism McDonald’s did away with “supersizing”. As obesity grew in the U.S., their menu introduced healthier fare and they seemed to agree that a person really doesn’t need 32 ounces of soda in one sitting.
