Hikingforums.net An outdoor community with character…

I like hiking. Something about strapping on boots, stuffing a pack, checking your maps, and waving off whatever other social interactions that may rear their head. “I’m sorry I can’t… I have a hike planned.” It sort of leaves them in awe, as if they should blow off the communion party and go with you. In our technologically soaked world, hiking and by association the avid hiker are held in almost mythic regard.
Hikingforums.net is a community of by and for such mythic souls. It’s a place to talk gear, trails, recollections of past adventures and get advice on future ones. With 1500+ members, it’s a growing community that hosts distinct personalities, a wide range of outdoor expertise, and some killer photos from trips undertaken. Members share their experience freely as well as links to their own sites where I’ve found even more useful and colorful content. (You’d have to check out the Survivor Stud aka Jason Klass to realize what I mean.)
I’ve only recently discovered hikingforums.net, but I can already get a sense of the deep character, humor and willingness to share their wealth of hiking knowledge. You can also expect them to not hold back on a genuine enthusiasm for the outdoors that drives many of them deeper into the woods or higher into the mountains than the average bear might feel prudent.
