Some of you may have noticed a recent addition to the site. In the right column, you will now find sports tools and calculators provided by Active.com. These training tools are a great way to establish a base line and progression for any health/fitness program.

The target heart rate calculator lets you know how fast your heart should be beating in order to get the most effective workout. Faster is not always better.

The caloric needs calculator determines how many calories your body needs to maintain your current weight on a daily basis. From that number you can adjust your calorie intake if you are looking to increase or decrease your body weight.

The nutritional needs calculator breaks down your calories and grams per day of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. This is based on the 40/30/30 nutritional guide which is the most popular food plan for a healthy lifestyle.

Active.com’s Pace CalculatorThe pace calculator determines the speed (pace) you walk or run for a specific amount of time. Just enter two variables and it will calculate the third. This is a great tool to measure your progress and keep yourself motivated.
